Today I visited Kensington. Back in the old days, it was a royal forest where the king hunted. Later, it was given to the people in the form of the 350-acre Hyde Park. I began my walk at Kensington Palace, where Princess Diana raised Prince William and Prince Harry.
As I strolled through the park, it seemed that all of London was out to play.
Nearby is the Albert Memorial and Royal Albert Hall. I was lucky enough to attend a performance there last year and would love to take all of you someday.
Prince Albert designed Kensington to be a place of higher learning. Here is the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum, both which are free to the public.
This is the courtyard of the Victoria and Albert Museum. When I exited, I was swept up into the Great Exhibition Road Festival.
Images from my walk include a typical street view and a wealthy neighborhood, complete with a Rolls Royce parked outside.
All of my stops were great, but my main mission today was Harrods. It's six floors of everything, but it's nothing like Meijer. There's no way my photos can capture it, so take a look here. And to think, Americans get excited about Buc-ee’s.
Why was I at Harrods? My daughter requested a London Jellycat exclusive. I'm proud to say that Étienne Éclair is coming home with me.
